Misc

I was born and raised in Lebanon, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville. I grew up playing the drums (drum set and marching/rudimental percussion, mostly) throughout middle school, high school, and college, and still enjoy playing when I have the time.

Prior to coming to NMSU, I received my Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame, where I wrote a dissertation on the attention-shifting dynamics of white nationalist organizations in the U.S. South. I also received an M.A. from The University of Memphis, where I wrote a thesis on shame-pride emotion schemas in white supremacist music.

I live in Las Cruces, New Mexico, with my wife.
